Visa additional information : Medical attendant visas are valid when traveling together with a passenger visiting India for medical purposes. Indian visa stickers have no seal/signature from the issuing authority. Valid visa stickers and evisa stamps in expired passports are accepted if accompanied by a valid passport of the same nationality. Valid evisas (Electronic Travel Authorizations ETA) issued against a passport that has expired are accepted if accompanied by a valid passport of the same nationality. Visa extensions possible, except for T (tourist) visas and Transit visas. India does not permit dual nationality for nationals of India. An Indian national with dual nationality must contact the embassy/high commission for further information. Visitors must have a permit when visiting protected areas.

Warnings: Passengers of Pakistani origin (those born in Pakistan or whose parents or grandparents were born in Pakistan) with a multiple entry Tourist Visa (type T), with a validity ranging from above 3 months and up to 10 years, are required to have at least 60 days between visits. Effective from 31 March 2020, passengers with a Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Card will not be allowed to enter. They must change their PIO status to Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) status before 31 March 2020. Passengers with an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card younger than 20 years must have both passports when the passport number in the OCI card does not match the one in the valid passport. Passengers with an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card 50 years or older must have both passports when the passport number in the OCI card does not match the one in the valid passport.
